How it Began

Quality Affordable Homes & Consultants originally began simply as Quality Affordable Homes (QAH) in 1987 with the desire to build cost efficient housing for all. To date, our company has built over 50 homes along with remodeling numerous others.

In 1995, the principle of QAH wanted to help young families adopt a financial plan that had its foundation in single family home ownership. Within a year, a study evolved that showed how renting out a small portion of their home while they were getting established provided a tremendous footing for financial independence. From this, the “Smart Home Program” evolved which showed incredible benefits which we first introduced in a brochure and now detail in this website.

Establishing Your Fortress

In the 1990’s, electric solar systems for single family housing came on the scene. Although a great idea, most systems were very cost prohibitive. However, from 2010 and beyond these systems became more affordable, with many companies offering no out-of pocket costs for their installation and use. That’s still true today.

However, further research revealed that serious weaknesses in our energy infrastructures began surfacing that were cause for concern. Not only that, but other dangers also began to be appear that could have far reaching effects. If these dangers manifested, a whole gambit of consequences could evolve which could cause serious ramifications – some life threatening. Through my research, I learned that specific protections, systems and configurations could be employed to construct what today is called a “Safe Haven Home”. What is a "Smart Home"

Although a QAH “Smart” home uses some of the latest “green” construction techniques and computerized tech innovations, the original meaning of this term is based on helping families understand the powerful wealth building aspect of home ownership designed in a “Smart Home” format.  A “Smart Home” is one of the most versatile homes available. How the "Smart Home Program" Works

With a “Smart Home”, we show how you can realistically pay off a $400,000 thirty year mortgage at 5% in as little as 16 years and three months by using nifty tools such as mortgage acceleration concepts, tax deductions and more. Then we took this concept a little further. We looked to see what would happen if you would continue paying an imaginary mortgage of the same amount in combination with the income generated from the “Smart Home Program“ for an additional 13 yrs and 9 months beyond the 16 years when you paid off your mortgage (which would equal 30 years, a standard mortgage term).  We assume that this shouldn’t be a

problem since you had been doing this for over 16 years anyway. This in effect becomes a powerful savings program which at the end of nearly 14 years (following the 16 year payoff period on your mortgage) totals $1,492,291 in gross profits in 30 years!!!  You are now a millionaire, plus some. Wow!

A few comments. We’ve tried to be conservative in our calculations. As you’re probably aware, home equity value increases can vary significantly. Some years they can increase over 20% while other years they can decrease. At the same time we realize that you probably will not have continuous rental income over the entire 30 years.
